Surf Spot Details

Probably the most beautiful surfcamp in Europe! Imagine an old traditional house almost like a castle directly in front of “Lagide” one of the best breaks in Europe. Watch the waves from your room or from the beautiful backyard and get out in a minute when the conditions are right. Wind wrong? No problem: You are also surrounded by plenty of different spots for all levels with all different exposures.
The island of Baleal is located along the Peniche peninsula. Many consider this surf area to be the most consistent in Europe. The mild weather and the excellent surfing conditions all year around makes our coastline to be called the "California of Europe". Surf Castle has a central location. Its front yard is one of the best reef waves in Portugal:
Lagido:
Left-hand reef break. Well-known and consistent waves, and therefore, usually a lot of surfers. Beware of sea urchins at low tide. Tide – All, but better at half-tide, rising.
Swell – Northern and Northwestern. Wind – South and east quadrant. Level of difficulty – 3 out of 5. Wave size – up to 4 metres / 10 to 12 feet.

In August I went to a surfcamp in Portugal for one week with a friend from Australia.. What a great time we had:-)! Great instructors and great people from all walks of life. We enjoyed riding the waves with the two youngsters from The Netherlands:-)!
